I must admit it, we went a little bit off the veg garden topic in the last few posts but that’s what Christmas is all about, right? 😉
I saw this poster sometime ago and thought how much more sense it makes to buy presents from local businesses rather than the likes of amazon. And here in Cooley, we are very lucky to have some amazing local producers/artists/ craft-makers as well as coffee shops and restaurants. So if you still have some last minute presents, maybe you will find the ideas below useful…and you do not need to leave the Cooley Peninsula to get those 🙂
Shells Driftwood – if you want to give someone a gift that it’s truly from Cooley – all picked from the local beach and made into lovely, reasonable priced gifts. https://www.facebook.com/shellsdriftwoodcarlingford
Carlingfod Design House – very stylish place with a great selection of gifts made by Irish artists. Also, beautiful jewelry by Garreth Mallone https://www.facebook.com/carlingforddesignhouse
Cooley Mens Shed – a great local initiative and also a place where you can get gifts from locally sourced wood. Well worth checking out. https://www.facebook.com/cooley.shed?fref=ts
Or a voucher for…a good coffee?
Such a practical present – will definitely be put into a good use:) No end of those, from little coffee shops such as the family friendly Station House in Lordship to ones with loads of character like Dan’s and Ruby Ellen’s in Carlingford.
Or maybe something a bit more adventurous…
If you have an adventure lover in your family there are still last minute options as well. Carlingford Adventure Centre offers a great selection of activities for people of all ages and if it is a high speed thrill on the water you are after, well Louth Adventures have fantastic speed boat trips on the Lough.
So save yourself the hassle of driving around and keep it local 🙂
