I heard about this pie from a friend of mine couple of years ago. This was her way of convincing me me that even thought my cooking skills are well….not existent, this pie always works out! and yes 3 years later, I never managed to mess it up!
So the original name of it is actually yogurt cake and apparently the recipe comes from France – this is the first piece of baking the kids there do! After couple of years, I learnt that you can add virtually anything to it and it will taste lovely – this time the time came for last year blackberries and apples.
So you will need:
1 cup of natural yogurt (small, 200 mill), 3 cups of flour, 1 spoon and a half of baking powder, 1 cup of vegetable oil, 3 eggs, 1 cup of sugar, cooked blackberries and apples.
How to make it:
1. Mix the flour and baking powder together
2. Add the rest of ingredients (apart from fruit) and mix with a spoon till you get a smooth consistency. (Don’t over mix it)
3. Put half of the mix into the baking try, then add cooked blackberries and apples (quantity is up to you) and cover with the rest of the mix.
4. Put in preheated oven (180C) for 35min
Done! You can also do it without the fruit but add vanilla essence or lemon juice for taste.
